Many of you know I love to crochet and have asked if I would teach you this fun and useful skill. So good news: I will be offering a free class to my currently enrolled students on Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm before the Short Course Zill class in the dressing room using the “Mile A Minute Lace” stitch to make a belly dance tassel belt. How to make center tied tassels to adorn the belt will be taught as well. “Mile A Minute” is a simple, it only has two stitches, fast and a user friendly stitch that is a great way to learn how to do the basics of crochet and is useful in many other applications. Let me know if you plan to join us!
“HOW TO MAKE A BASIC BELLY DANCE TASSEL BELT”
Starting May 27 6:30-8pm—Dressing Room at Janna’s
You will need to bring your own supplies:
• 2-3 skeins of yarn in different colors-Red Heart Super Saver is a good choice its inexpensive, easy to find in any craft store or crafting department and very forgiving to a new “crocheter”. Have fun mixing colors that make your heart sing.
• A size H/8, I/9, J/10 or K/10 ½ crochet hook, metal or plastic, either is fine—also sold in any craft department that sells yarn such as Walmart, Michaels, or AC Moore.
• A willing attitude and a small amount of patience for yourself.
Keep in mind this class will be running at the same time as the Yoga class so if you arrive late remember to be courteous and quiet and walk around the edge of the studio as you enter the dressing area so as not to disturb the participants.
